Central West vets report for game played at Oberon on October 14

Hi everyone,

A field of 48 Central West veteran golfers had a game of golf at the very scenic Oberon golf course. The weather reports were predicting some rain that thankfully, except for a small shower, it never eventuated, and everyone was able to complete the game with the exception of two guys who decided to run home as soon as they heard the one and only clap of thunder, we had all day.

As always, we were welcome to a nice cap of coffee on arrival and a very good lunch after the game.

On to results.

The winner of the day was Central West vets Captain, David Agst with and excellent score of 41 points that included 2 birdies, 11 pars, 3 bogies and unthinkably two pickups.

Second place went David Coleman with 38 points and Darrell Bourke rounded up the voucher winners with 37 points on a countback from Laurie Murphy.

The ladies’ winner was Robyn Slattery with 33 points.

The ball sweep went down to 31 points. I don’t know who were the nearest to the pin as they were not collected.

Next round of Central West vets will be at Wellington on Monday October 21.

As usual you will have to call Mary on 0407 458 413 to book a starting time. Also, if you need a cart you will need to pay for it, $35 or $17.50 if you are sharing, with cash.

Good golfing everyone
