Central West vets enjoying lunch at Molong golf club

Central West vets report for game played at Molong, December 9

Hi everyone

A reasonable field of 44 Central West Vets golfers took on the challenge of playing Molong golf course with the hope of conquering the course and playing somewhere near our handicap or at least get to 30 points but as it has happened many times in the past the challenge was a “bridge too far“

Of the 44 players, no one was able to play to their handicap and only 6 manage to score better than 30 points. Vet golfers are a resilient group, and we live in hope that maybe next time we will do better.

In the meantime, we know that the wonderful hospitality that the Molong volunteers provide for us with a “to die for” morning tea and a wonderful lunch after the game makes the trip worthwhile.

On to the golf results.

We had a three-way countback to decide the winners and when Eddie knight, Ian Crofts and Alan Evans returned cards of 33 points. When the dust settled Eddy was given 1st place, Ian was 2nd and Alan settled for 3rd.

The ladies comp winner was the very consistent Robyn Sharp O’Neil with 31 points.

The ball sweep went down to 25 points.

Next game of Central West vets will be our Christmas Cheer Day at Bathurst on Monday December 16. Winning prizes for the day will be hams so if you have a good score stay around for presentation to claim your prize.

It will also be an opportunity to renew your membership which is $20 this year and collect the 2025 program and membership card.

To book a game you will have to call the Bathurst Proshop on 02 6331 1379. Do it early as there are very few places left.

Good golfing everyone
