Vets relaxing at Wellington club house to a nice lunch after golf

Central West vets report for game played at Wellington July 29

Hi everyone,

A very good field of 57 Central West vet golfer played a round of vets’ golf at Wellington Golf Club on Monday July 29 and what a pleasure it was, the course was fantastic. The fairways had a good coverage of grass that provided a reasonable amount of run, and the greens were firm and true to line.

I will take this opportunity to thank club manager Marie and her group of volunteers who work so hard to make sure that we enjoy a wonderful morning tea on arrival and an excellent lunch at the completion of the game. If you didn’t make it to Wellington, you missed out on a great day.

On to golf results

The winner in A grade was Peter Chaffey from Bathurst with a score of 35 points. A three-way countback was required to decide B grade when Graeme Walker, Alan Renike and Kosta Athanasiou all returned scores of 34 points. The computer named Graeme the winner by a very small margin with Alan and Kosta settling for a ball on the ball sweep.

A countback was also need in B grade when Ashley Bullock and Barry Bowman both returned cards of 37 points. The computer gave Ash the winner’s voucher and Barry settled for second place.

The ladies comp winner was Cathy Loo-Shui with a very good score of 31 points.

The ball sweep went down to 30 points. Nearest to the pin winners were Peter Chaffey on the 3th, Darrell Bourke on the 8th and Peter Holden on the 16th.

Results and ball sweep.

Next game of Central West vet’s will be at Blayney on Monday, August 12.

The cost for the game will be $20 which will include morning tea and you will be able to purchase a gourmet pie for $5 at the end of the game.

I will pass on the tee time booking details when I receive them from Blayney.

Good golfing everyone, see you at Blayney.
