Central West veteran golfers enjoying lunch at Oberon Golf Club

Central West vets golf report for game played at Oberon Monday January 13.

Hi everyone

A big field of 69 Central West  vet golfers opened the 2025 golf program with our first comp game for the year at beautiful but always challenging Oberon Golf course. We were told all sorts of weather predictions of early fog, light rain showers and a chance of thunderstorms but as it turned out none of them eventuated and we had a very pleasant summer day.

As it is always the case the morning tea on arrival and the excellent lunch after the game soon made up for our perils on the golf course.

One golfer that didn’t have too many problems was David Galvin from Bathurst who took out first place in A grade with 36 points. David was the only player in the field that played to his handicap. Second in A grade was Garry Willis from Oberon with 35 points.

In B grade the winner was Ryan Critchlow from Duntryleague with 32 points. John Tarleton from Wentworth was second with 30 points.

The Ladies’ comp winner was Kathy Mooney from Oberon with an excellent score of 35 points.

The ball sweep went down to 30 points and the Nearest too the Pin winners were Dick Northey on the 1st, Robyn Stapleton on the9th and Doug Westcott on the 17th.

Voucher winners and Ball sweep list.

Next game of Central West vets game will be at Wellington on Monday, January 20.
